There are so many who sit around the coffee table bitching about how damn bad their life is, how bad the economy is, even that Obama, who it looks like WILL get re-elected, is, and the list goes on.
When, I hear these things I’m reminded of the speech of JFK, in the mid 1960’s, who said, Don’t ask what you country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.
Sure people bitch on how low their wages are. Fact is there are high paying jobs out there, if people , especially women will pull their protected head out of their ass and go do them. Even if it is a job, like having a big bawd trucker kiss her toe in nylon hose in a photo op, or sitting in a radio studio talking about relationships and the differences between what guys and gals think on a certain topic or issue.
While $40.00 an hour ain’t much, it beats the hell out of what first time entry level on air announcers make.
The only reason we in the club pay that, is our style of radio is not exactly that of what area residents are used to here.
That’s why even moderately tame shows like BoB & Tom are syndicated and not live in any area local station’s studio.
Which is something I need to do now.
Put together talent elsewhere, then have a club member sit in the studio pushing buttons, just because a few snot nosed rich chicks or one on SSI couldn’t get off their ass and venture into the Wolf’s Lair.
More over for the two or so that did, I should charge them for studio time since I had to schedule my world around theirs.
For no gain what so ever.
Yes we could give up and many would cheer if we did.
The fact is there are 5 none auction channels within 50 miles from where we are at right now . Two we already own, and are building on, the rest are there for our expansion.
There are many that get fixed income, sit at home, praying that their government payment gets them through the month. Hell I do that. But instead of bitching I’m out fixing. I bust my ass to make extra cash, and if that means shutting off the truck, sitting in a radio studio, to make extra money for the club of which I get 5% of, then so be it.
There are many that pitch a bitch, then there are those of us who do something about it.
